CAMBRY ANDREA DAVIS

I had the most amazing labor/birth experience, but since I plan on writing Cambry's birth story on here I wont go into much detail about that right now. She is now 8 weeks old and sleeping through the night {yay}so I finally have enough energy to forgo my once desperately needed naps to catch up on our blog.
It's been a complete whirlwind the past 8 weeks. We were blessed to have so many of our family and friends come visit us for several weeks that we are just now learning to adjust to life as a family of 4. Thus far it has been a fairly smooth transition. Brynley is learning to be a big sister and has done so wonderful with her. On only two occasions have I come into the room to see that Bryn has put the breastfeeding pillow around her waist and she is about to pick her up and hold her. Close call. She absolutely loves to hold her and when Cambry is crying you can always hear Brynley saying, "it's ok Cambry"
Proud big sister moments that make my heart warm
We dealt with what we thought was colic for a few weeks, thankfully it was only every couple nights, but as it turned out our little girl has a gassy little tummy. Once I learned what to do to help we were back to happy smiles and coo's. I tried cutting out several foods that are known to produce a lot of gas, as well as eliminating dairy. Even after over a month I still dont know what the real culprits are. I am still not eating dairy because the few times I decided to try it she was extremely fussy and gassy for the next 3 days. I have found that moderate amounts of butter used for baking has been ok, but I have been learning to substitute with healthier options. I have joked around with Jeremy that dairy is really the only thing that would keep me from being a vegan....LOL, he didn't think it was funny at all. But we are eating more clean these days and mixing in some meat free meals every once in a while.
We took a trip to the doctors today for a sick visit for Brynley and Cambry. More on the precautionary side for Cambry because she has coughed and gagged a few times today and seems to be a little congested but no fever. Poor thing has the smallest little nose so any type of blockage/swelling is bad news for her. Brynley has her usual cold that she gets a few times a year, starting with a low grade fever and clear drainage, then coughing and yucky drainage a few days later. Praying this liquid gold we call breastmilk will prevent Cambry from getting it and that Bryn will be able to get some sleep tonight.
In other news, Jeremy got a promotion at work a few weeks ago. He is now the Lifegroup/Life missions pastor in Ft. Worth. We are very excited about this opportunity and thankful for all that God has provided.
