First tooth

It seems like we are hitting milestone after milestone these days and it never seems to get old, even the most minute things.  The feelings we have when she stares into our eyes and mumbles a new strange syllable, is like the first time she laid eyes on us. As of late, she is walking with ease, saying mama, and dancing to her abc's.  Yesterday, while on our way to the lake I realized that she was sucking on her fingers more than usual, drooling down her forearms to her elbows, and being a little more fussy than her norm.  I didn't believe it to be anything more than  her teeth making their way up, but surely nowhere near the surface as it seems we have gone through this fussy drooling stage about once a month and two days later she would be back to her normal self. However, yesterday she laughed at me and I caught a glance of a swollen bump on her lower gums and two little "white spots" peeking through. At first, I didn't want to believe it and my friend Jo had to reassure me that in fact, that was a little tooth. Unfortunately, I have been unable to get a picture of this little pearly white, finally  making it's entrance after 10 months.  She won't let me see it and gets very agitated if I try to pry her mouth open, imagine that! Perhaps I will get a picture of her toothy grin soon.

Yesterday we also went to the lake with our friends the Phelps and their little twins.

She was so excited to see the water.  I feel like we have a little lake girl on our hands.

We had a fun time, we swam for a bit then went tubing for a very short time before we saw a bolt of lightning in the distance and we had to cut our trip short. We sped back to the loading dock and just as Jeremy was finishing preparing the boat to leave, it started to down pour. We didn't even make it halfway home and we had to stop at a tiny gas station in Sperry because it was so windy; the rain was coming down sideways and we couldn't see anything.  I wish I was exaggerating but, sadly, this was not the case. Of course, we were so excited to finally see rain that it didn't bother us in the least bit. We are a having a horrible draught right now with temperatures in the 110+'s so needless to say we were elated that we were having some relief for the barren dry desert we have come to be familiar with the past month.  Beautiful ending to a beautiful day.

Feeling very blessed!
