Family weekend

The simple pleasures of grilling in the backyard with your little girl playing in the pool. Does it get any better than that?

She has been more picky lately with her food. I am sure it's because we are introducing more things to her and she is starting to have her preferences. But ones things for sure as of right now, she loves her corn.

Oh but not just corn, only corn on the cob for our little princess. And does she ever clean that thing....not a kernel left on it when she is done.

Resting with daddy after she stole his plum ;)
Auntie Chelsea and Kyle surprised her with an outfit and the cutest bikini ever! I am not exaggerating when I say that she runs and puts this on herself the minute she wakes up in the morning and runs to the door and says "poo? poo?" I made the mistake the first morning she brought her bathing suit to me of putting it on over her pajamas because I thought she wanted to just wear them and she was so upset that she couldn't get in the pool like that. Needless to say, I never did that again.

She has this thing with putting things around her neck and pretending to wear them....my bra, my tank tops, her bathing suits, etc. It's so cute I cant even stand it.

I was doing a little spring cleaning in one of our closets and Bryn found one of her daddy's sweat bands. She refused to take it off. She looks so much like her daddy here too.

She is also a big helper these days. If she sees that something has spilled she says "uh oh" and gets a towel or paper towel and cleans it up. So when she saw me cleaning the toilet she HAD to come help. She is very persistent this child. She loved the blue color of the toilet cleaner too. She cleaned that thing for 15 minutes straight. Squeaky clean! And don't worry, I cleaned the outside first so I wouldn't cringe every time she touched it.

We took a short break to take goofy pictures and paint our toenails! She sat there and didn't move a muscle the entire time. She was infatuated with it.

Peppering our peas!
We haven't been on a walk in a long time, and Brynley LOVES her stroller, so we took a nice looooong stroll around the neighborhood with Jake while the weather permitted.

We picked flowers. We smelled flowers. We blew on the flowers.
She was so excited.

We had our 18 month appointment on Friday morning. She hates her appointments. However, she doesn't freak out until the doctor starts doing his assessment on her. She is fine with him being in the room and talking to us, but boy, when he comes at her with his instruments she goes bonkers. You would have thought we were hurting her. After it was all said and done, she got her last 3 shots and 2 blue eyes (broken blood vessels) to show for it. Yes, that is how hard she was screaming.

Friday afternoon we went shoe and clothes shopping for Bryn because her closet is bare bones. I swear those shoes fit yesterday!

We found several pairs of shoes but these cute little sandals are my favorite and I just had to snap a picture to capture her little pink toes :)

We hung out with some friends that afternoon with plans to leave there and go to toys r us to get brynley a Tricycle because, like I posted last time, she is obsessed with our neighbors kids' bikes. "BOP! BOP!", she says. When we told them we were about to go get one they offered us the one they had in their garage that their daughter doesn't use anymore. What a blessing! And needless to say, she loves it!

My FAVORITE picture.....

Jeremy and I took his host team captains to dinner that night at Trails End Barbecue. All you can eat catfish! Delicious!

There were crazy storms sweeping across the midwest, tornadoes touching down in Norman and heading our way so we got home as soon as we could. After a torrential downpour, this magnificent double rainbow appeared. It went all the way across but my camera couldn't capture the whole thing.

This girl loves her some "nacks"

We really had such an amazing weekend. After the craziness of Easter preparation at church, we were really needing some family down time. I couldn't have asked for better quality time with my two favorite people in this world.  I am so blessed.
