This might have been one of my favorite days of the trip. It was so relaxing. We went to Long Beach and I know the first thing you think of isn't a beautiful beach. I didn't know there was actually a beach in Long Beach, strange I know seeing as how it has the word beach in it. Low and behold, there is a beautiful little beach community here on Second Street. I was in love.
We strolled around for a while until we decided on some sushi. Oddly enough, Jeremy has never had sushi in California, even after visiting several times. Even if the sushi wasn't the best I have had in CA, the atmosphere made the experience come alive.
And here was our amazing sushi! I love vacation :)
Bryn had a chicken rice bowl. Naturally she ate most of the veggies first. Although, chicken is becoming a pretty popular request these days. She is a natural at the art of stabbing her food with her chopsticks. Hey, it works, and it was all her idea. No coaxing on behalf of her parents needed.
After lunch we came across a cute little gourmet cupcake shop; and naturally, I couldn't resist. I got the nutella and Jeremy got the orange cream. Bryn had both ;)
After our sweet snack we made our way down to the water. Our original plan was just to go to mother's beach which is basically just a cove without waves, in other words, kid friendly. However, being close enough to see the beach and the crashing waves, we decided we would let Brynley decide if she liked the waves for herself.
Mother's beach was very nice. Brynley was very timid to go into the water. Being the fearless toddler that she is, we had to hold her hand the whole time so she wouldn't just dive bomb the water. Ironically, her favorite part was chasing birds. So needless to say, we didn't spend much time in the water.
Chasing a bird
Haha, I just realized these pictures look like we have palm trees growing out of the top of our heads!
This was actually a cute whale slide that she was sitting on but she wanted to face this way so I couldn't get the whale's face. But, it's cute so I'll take it.
After the beach we went to go visit Krista and Sam for dinner at their house. It was nice to catch up and meet their new dog. Brynley actually took to him and they were playing tug a war together. The night ended with some frozen yogurt from the Golden Spoon. Yum.
Today was a blast, tomorrow......DISNEYLAND!
