Learning how to swim

Well I am happy to say that the floaties work. After two more days of working on it in the pool with a little more success, we went to the lake. It was now or never right?!

First we suited up in the life jacket. I wasn't so sure I wanted to try the other one for fear that if there was any choppiness to the water she wouldn't stay afloat.

After we made it to the place where we tied up and I realized the water was very calm, we tried the other life vest. Let me just say, I couldn't get her in the water fast enough. She remembered that lily pad {pictured in the back} and was going crazy trying to get into the water, with our without me. I held onto her for about a minute, then she started swimming floating on her own. And that was it. No more help from me. She even got so comfortable she was jumping off the side of the lily pad into the water, head under and all! Where did this fish come from?

After a nice nap it was time to play outside again while daddy was working on smoking our ribs; I took the opportunity to get my camera out and practice a little. I am still learning things every time I get the chance to study, and I am always excited to try it out. My biggest battle is dealing with the light when she goes in and out of the shade, and then there are those beautiful golden sunsets that I wanted to practice with. This first one, my favorite by far!
