A new adventure

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord
your God will be with you wherever you go."

Texas is now our home.

It still feels very strange to say that. After leaving California as an 18 year old child, I spent the next 13 years in Oklahoma growing and molding into the woman of God, wife, mother, sister, friend and nurse I am today.

I often get this question: "Did you ever think you were going to be married to a pastor?" My answer, plain and simply, no. The thought never crossed my mind. It's funny how God works right? Fast forward several years, a pastor's wife for two years and 1.5 kids later and we are presented with this opportunity in Fort Worth. So for a week we prayed and talked and prayed and talked and changed our minds, doubted our first decision, then our second decision, talked some more, changed our minds again, prayed, prayed, prayed, felt called to go, made a decision based on justifying our own human wants and desires, knew it was the wrong decision, called them back and told them we needed to go......so here we are. How about that one?!

We immediately put our house on the market, I gave my two weeks notice at my job and we started preparing for our new adventure. And yes, let's not forget about my 25 week belly with a special little girl growing inside.

We pulled out of our driveway just before 7 pm on Monday March 18th, leaving the first house we ever owned together.

We had a few, shall I say hiccups, when we got here. But we remained faithful to our calling and persevered through it.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
James 1:2-3

So here's what has happened the last 2.5 weeks:

We moved....twice! Thankfully Marcia let us stay with her for several days until we got apartment things sorted out. Such a blessing. All the while Bryn and mommy were both sick :(

When we finally moved into our new apartment, lots of unpacking took place (again). But I took a break to build this princess a castle out of some of the boxes. I still don't think she quite grasps how to play in it....she might need her mommy to show her ;) Made it  big enough just in case.

We have spent several afternoons at the park in our complex, it's not quite warm enough yet to go swimming so we are getting our swinging obsession out of the way while the weather is mild. She was uber excited about the sand in the volleyball court. I just bought a little sandcastle kit, hoping that will lead to hours of entertainment.

We visited and toured the hospital where baby Davis #2 will be born. She couldnt resist climbing the big rocks.

Easter arrived very quickly with all the new excitement. Our campus had a bunny farm for all the kids. It was a huge hit, even after one of them bit Brynley. She talked about those bunnies for days after.

I just love this picture because it so accurately portrays how sleepy my poor girl was (and it was super bright outside). I was so proud of her because she was so well behaved that whole morning and afternoon. She slept through our entire lunch with Ja'Marc, Synthia and London at Boston Market.

Then we spent the evening at Paul and Marie's house for an Easter egg hunt. This girl is seriously motivated. When the other two toddlers were worn and out wanted to start eating their candy, Bryn was  eagerly filling her basket, twice!  I couldn't even keep up with her.

That's it for now! On a different note, I started my third trimester today. 28 weeks down, 12 to go! Can't wait to meet her!

Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to make this transition.
